Platform connections can stop working when permissions change, accounts are updated, or a platform asks you to approve access again. Reconnecting from Integrations is the safest way to restore access without sharing your platform password.

When to reconnect

Reconnecting is a good first step when Flikly cannot use a platform the way it did before. It is not always required for a one-time publishing error—sometimes the issue is content format or destination settings—but it often helps when access itself has changed.

  • A platform connection shows disconnected, expired, or needs attention.
  • Publishing fails because access or permissions changed on the platform.
  • A platform password, security setting, or account role changed.
  • The connected page, channel, board, or community is no longer available.
  • The platform asks you to approve permissions again.
  • You want to switch to a different platform account you manage.

If a single post fails but the connection still looks healthy, review the post destination and content requirements first. Reconnect when the platform or Flikly shows the connection needs attention.

Reconnect from Integrations

  1. 1Sign in to Flikly.
  2. 2Open Integrations from Settings or the dashboard navigation.
  3. 3Find the platform that needs attention.
  4. 4Choose Reconnect, Refresh, or Connect again depending on the button shown.
  5. 5Complete the platform permission screen.
  6. 6Return to Flikly and confirm the account shows as connected.
  7. 7Try the action again, such as scheduling or publishing.

Before you reconnect

Confirm you are signed in to the correct external platform account.

Check that you still have admin or manager access where a page, channel, or community is required.

Make sure the page, channel, board, or community still exists and is available to your account.

Review whether your Flikly plan allows the platform and account you are trying to use.

If you are switching accounts, disconnect the old account first when the Integrations screen requires it.

Reconnect vs disconnect

Reconnect or refresh

Use this when you want to keep the same intended platform connection and renew access. It is usually the best first step when permissions need approval again.

Disconnect

Use this when you want to remove the connection from Flikly. If you connected the wrong account, disconnect and connect the correct one.

If you only need to approve permissions again, reconnect or refresh is usually enough. Disconnect when you no longer want Flikly linked to that account or when you are switching to a different account on purpose.

What changes after reconnecting

  • Flikly should be able to use the approved platform permissions again.
  • The connected account may show as active or healthy in Integrations.
  • Some permissions or account choices may change depending on what the platform returns during approval.
  • Scheduled content may still need review if the destination account, page, or channel changed.
  • If a platform changed its rules, reconnecting may not solve every publishing limitation on its own.

If publishing still fails

After a successful reconnect, try your post again. If it still fails, work through these checks before contacting support.

  1. 1Confirm the platform account is connected in Flikly.
  2. 2Check that the selected account, page, or channel matches the post destination.
  3. 3Confirm the content format meets platform requirements.
  4. 4Try reconnecting again in a clean browser tab.
  5. 5Review any error message shown by Flikly.
  6. 6Contact support with the platform name, post time, destination account or page, and the visible error message.

Common issues

Why did my connection expire?
Platforms may require users to approve access again from time to time, especially after account or security changes. Reconnecting from Integrations is usually the fastest way to restore access.
Why does reconnecting ask for permissions again?
The platform controls the permission screen and may ask you to confirm access again before Flikly can prepare, schedule, publish, or measure content.
I reconnected but the wrong account appears
Sign out of the external platform or switch accounts in your browser, then reconnect from Flikly and choose the correct profile, page, or channel when prompted.
My page or channel is still missing
Confirm your platform role and that the page or channel is still available to your account. Admin or manager access is often required before it appears during connection.
I disconnected by mistake
Connect the platform again from Integrations. You will go through the same secure permission screen as a new connection.
Publishing still fails after reconnecting
Check permissions, content format, destination account, and platform requirements. Reconnecting renews access but does not override every platform rule. Contact support if the issue continues.
